Requesting Custom Work

I invite new projects of all types! You can decide on your level of involvement in our collaboration: completely design the piece yourself, or simply describe the overall dimensions and general style. For large projects, I use a combination of Sketchup and hand drawings to explore different design options. Smaller projects like wooden spoons and bowls can usually be figured out over the phone or by email. If you have wood with nostalgic value that you would like turned into something new, or a nook in your house that you don't know what to do with, I am happy to brainstorm with you. Addtionally, almost anything on the home page or on Etsy can be customized to your liking and made to your requested dimensions, with some variation in reclaimed materals.

I don't charge for brainstorming, estimates, meetings or consultations, so please don't hesitate to reach out! You can use my contact form, call or text me at (617) 942-1835, or email me at flotsammade@gmail.com.

Examples of Custom Work

Porch Bar Top
Picture
Grace wanted a bar tabletop for her porch. She described what she wanted and sent me a drawing with dimensions as well as a photoshopped image of the porch. I found wood scraps for the project, and she selected the metal legs.

Cherry Bowl and Chopsticks
Picture
Jennifer saved a small log from a Cherry tree that she used to love. She let it cure for two years, then gave it to me to make into something. After opening the log and determining what condition the wood was in, we agreed to make a bowl and chopsticks.

Baby Gate Picture Frames
Picture
Steven wanted picture frames made out of an old crib and baby gate that he and his wife had been holding onto for sentimental reasons. After some brainstorming, we agreed on three sets of two: a pair of 8x10s using the top piece of the crib, a pair of 5x7s using the narrow vertical pieces, and a pair of 4x6s using the plastic mesh as part of the frame design.
