Requesting Custom Work

I invite new projects of all sizes. For large projects, I often use a combination of computer programs and hand drawings to explore different design options. If you have wood with nostalgic value that you would like turned into something new, or a nook in your house that you don't know what to do with, I am happy to brainstorm with you, obligation free. Addtionally, most things on the home page or on Etsy can be customized and made to your requested dimensions, with some variation in reclaimed materals. If the project requires, we can schedule online appoints via Zoom or Skype, and I can sometimes make in-person vitits to locations in New York and Massachusetts. I don't charge for brainstorming, estimates, meetings or consultations, so don't hesitate to reach out.

To start, contact me and describe your custom request.

Cherry Bowl and Chopsticks
Picture
Jennifer saved a small log from a cherry tree that she used to love. She let it cure for two years, then gave it to me to make into something. After opening the log and determining what condition the wood was in, we agreed to make a bowl and chopsticks.

Bookshelf/Pantry Set
Picture
Roya wanted a set of shelves to use in her kitchen, that she could later repurpose as bookshelves. She sent me pictures of styles she liked, and after we had the overall dimensions figured out, I came up with some different design ideas. We finally went with a modern industrial vibe and rustic slatted shelves, using pine construction scraps.

Porch Bar Top

Grace wanted a bar tabletop for her porch. She described what she wanted and sent me a drawing with dimensions as well as a photoshopped image of the porch. I found wood scraps for the project, and she selected the metal legs.

Baby Gate Picture Frames
Picture
Steven wanted picture frames made out of an old crib and baby gate that he and his wife had been holding onto for sentimental reasons. After some brainstorming, we agreed on three sets of two: a pair of 8x10s using the top piece of the crib, a pair of 5x7s using the narrow vertical pieces, and a pair of 4x6s using the plastic mesh as part of the frame design.
