This is my take on the American spurtle, based roughly on a custom request (my client called it her "batter beater" and said she used her old one for everything until it wore out). Forget about spoons and spatulas - this little guy is perfect for stirring, scraping, slicing and tasting! Some people claim that the American spurtle is the only wooden tool you need in your kitchen. The sturdy blade measures only 1.5" wide, and is carved thinner than the rounded handle, giving the piece a lovely contour and a natural feel. Finished with food-safe tung & citrus oils. I take pride in producing beautiful, well crafted items from salvaged wood. These spurtles are made from a mix of sources - reclaimed construction scraps and offcuts that were discarded by woodworking shops in Boston, MA.
