Take good care of your wooden kitchen tools with this simple wood conditioner. Made out of US-sourced beeswax and food-safe mineral oil, this wood conditioner is the simplest way to keep your boards and utensils repelling water like new. This is a concoction that I started making to ensure that my customers can easily take care of the wooden items I make. The ingredients are mixed to a shoe-polish consistency, which I find makes the wax easy to apply while still retaining the waterproofing quality of the beeswax. Best of all, this mixture will never go rancid or stale, and a little bit goes a long way!
The large option weighs 3 oz. The tin is just over 3″ in diameter and about 1″ deep. It includes a sponge for ease of use. This is the ideal size for anyone with cutting boards and/or a large number of wooden utensils.
The small option weighs 0.5 oz. The tin is about 1.5″ in diameter and about 0.75″ deep. I suggest this to anyone who is buying wooden utensils for the first time. It also makes a great gift addition.
Both large and small containers have labels with ingredients as well as instructions – simply apply with a sponge or rag and wipe off! For those who want to learn more, I have a detailed explanation of different finishing and conditioning options here. And of course, don’t hesitate to message me and ask any questions!
